SPECIAL TOPICS - MONTHLY & SEMESTER END

MONTHLY SPECIAL on an AFRICA-RELATED TOPIC

Throughout the expedition, the team will address a number of special themes and topics that relate to Africa. The first 3 themes will be:

January 2006 - Water
For January, we will focus on Water. A wealth of background information and lessons is available under Expedition Prep- Water. Throughout the month, the team will add relevant live content on Water to the Kids site.

February 2006 - Deserts

March 2006 - Islam

** Other topics will be added as the team hits the road. Have a suggestion of a topic? Share it with us in the Teachers Forum.

SEMESTER END PROJECT - Term 1: Jan to June 2006

A Semester end project is a term long (or end of term) project that can be used with your students. By having one project each term, classes that are using the program can share what they have learned. This is a great opportunity to learn about other classes in other countries!

For the Jan- June 2006 term, the theme of the project is:

‘What we learned from Tire Tracks'

This should be a student report on what they learned by using the program. We ask for 1 result per class. Any type of media/result is acceptable, as long as we can present it on the website. Examples are a document explaining what the kids learned, a presentation, a photo collage, short vide clip, etc. Be creative!
